PIN « WINE STONE » WHITE & RED

From the cellar to the jewelry workshop

130,00 TTC

The “Wine Stone” brooch-pin helps to break the ice! They are a conversation starter, “but what’s this beautiful stone?” “It’s wine tartar! »

I went down into the cellar with a hammer and a headlamp to collect Riesling tartar in a wooden barrel, like a miner would go down into a mine to look for precious stones. A more local, ethical and ecological way to find gemstones, rather than bringing them from the other side of the planet!

Description

Tartar:

This tartar is a thin crystalline film which fixes itself in the wooden barrels and sparkles like a thousand lights! Partially polished, it is set inside a circle of gypsum and in brass circle.

From the extraction of the stone to the finishing touches, everything is done in the estate’s workshop by Elisa Klur, winegrower-jeweler.

Like a cartography on one side, a hilly landscape on the other, each piece is unique and you will use it according to your mood of the day! It is Handmade from A to Z from Pinot Noir and Riesling tartar!

Unique creation:

This jewelry is made by hand, from tartar plates collected in my cellar, therefore each piece is unique, and will have its own characteristics and colors (red and white tartar or a mixture of the two), and may vary from the images shown above.

Brass:

This piece of jewelry has been made of brass with a brushed finish, it is a metal that acquires a patina over time, a characteristic which, in my opinion, is very important, I see them as pieces with their own history, just like the plates of tartar before becoming jewelry.

Embrace their aging and metamorphosis, because it is truly a magical process.

If you prefer a shiny piece of jewelry, lemon juice and baking soda are a natural brass cleaner. Mix the juice of half a lemon and 1 teaspoon of baking soda to form a paste and rub on the brass. Leave the mixture on for 5 minutes and wipe it off with a warm, damp cloth.
